The Encode: AI for Science Fellowship is a program for technical AI researchers with founder ambitions — backing ~12 Fellows annually to translate frontier research into venture-scale companies.

After receiving more than 2000 applications to Encode, we saw an opportunity to help convene the people, data, and scientific problems at the frontier of AI for Science.

This Encode: AI for Science Challengescape highlights high-impact problems where advances in AI could accelerate scientific discovery and real-world translation. Each Challenge Area comes directly from researchers working on frontier problems that would benefit from collaboration with exceptional ML talent.
