Job Overview

We are building a central AI Platform to support the safe, scalable, and efficient use of AI across Arm's engineering teams.

This Director-level leadership role has responsibility for the team building out this platform, owning strategy, organization build-out, and delivery of production-grade AI services at scale.

You Will Initially Lead In Three Key Areas

  • Building and operating our AI control plane:

Define, build, and operate the core platform that enables safe and scalable AI usage across the company. Scope includes:

  • Centrally run MCP server infrastructure
  • Model access and routing
  • Policy implementation & runtime controls
  • Enabling safe and observable agentic workflows
  • Engineering experience and enablement:

Ensure AI tools - including the AI control plane - are easy and friction-free to use and integrate, including:

  • Developer AI portal and service catalogue
  • Documentation, training and onboarding experiences
  • Establish "Golden paths" for common AI use cases
  • AI safety

Ensure AI at Arm is secure, compliant, and aligned with enterprise risk frameworks, including:

  • Secure execution environments and workload isolation
  • Alignment with security, legal, and compliance requirements
  • Implementation of governance policies with minimal developer friction

Responsibilities

  • Build and lead a high-performing team of platform engineers and AI specialists
  • Define and implement the AI platform strategy and roadmap
  • Partner with engineering leadership to prioritise platform capabilities
  • Operate production-grade services with high reliability and clear SLAs
  • Own vendor relationships and platform budget

Required Skills And Experience

  • Hands-on knowledge of AI technologies (for example MCP servers, skills, model orchestration, retrieval-augmented generation, vector databases, agentic enablement).
  • Experience building and leading platform, infrastructure or developer tooling teams.
  • Experience delivering and operating mature and evolving production services.
  • Track record of leading through ambiguous and rapidly evolving technology landscapes.
  • Strong stakeholder management across engineering, security, and business functions.

“Nice To Have” Skills And Experience

  • Experience building internal developer platforms or AI platforms
  • Experience with AI governance, risk, and compliance frameworks
  • Familiarity with sandboxing, isolation, and secure runtime environments

Salary Range

£168,300 - £227,700 per year
